Education Series: No. 2 Recovery Protocol Human Performance

ONE TOOL
ISN'T ENOUGH.
NEITHER IS TWO.

Why elite performance demands a complete recovery system, and how RECON's three-pillar protocol delivers exactly that.

"If the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. The human body is one of the most complex systems on the planet. It deserves a recovery protocol built like an F1 pit crew, every tool, every system, dialed for the job."

The Problem

YOUR BODY IS NOT A NAIL

Most athletes train like professionals and recover like amateurs. They hit the ice bath. They stretch. Maybe they foam roll. And then they wonder why performance plateaus and why the grind starts grinding them down.

The issue isn't effort. It's incomplete thinking.

An F1 team doesn't send a car out with one type of tire and hope for the best. They analyze the track, the conditions, the car's individual stress points, and they build a pit crew strategy that addresses all of it. Suspension. Fuel. Tires. Aero. Every system gets attention because every system matters.

Your body is no different. Compression covers one part of recovery. Red light covers another. A combined PEMF, far infrared and negative ion session covers a third. The question isn't which tool is best. The question is whether you're running a complete system.

At RECON Wellness, that's exactly what we build. We are a systems company, and the three pillars of the RECON protocol exist because no single modality can address the full complexity of what elite training demands from the human body. The pit-crew model only works if the pit exists, which is why gym operators building this out as a permanent zone are building it as a station, a room, or a suite rather than buying one device at a time.

The Framework

THE RECON THREE-PILLAR PROTOCOL

Each pillar covers a distinct part of recovery. Together, they form a maintenance and performance protocol designed for athletes who train hard, recover smart, and stay in the game longer.

01
ACTIVATE / CIRCULATE
Compression

Sequential compression that inflates chambers in order, foot to hip, in a steady wave. The foundation of the RECON protocol.

02
RENEW
PEMF Far Infrared Negative Ion 660nm Red Light*

A multi-modality recovery session delivered through the RECON mat system. PEMF, FIR, and negative ion in every session. 660nm targeted red light available in the Renew+ configuration.

03
RESTORE RED LIGHT
630 to 1060nm Red Light

Dedicated full-panel photobiomodulation. 8 wavelengths, 630 to 1060nm, purpose-built for red light as the primary recovery modality.

Pillar One Deep Dive

ACTIVATE / CIRCULATE: PRESSURE IN SEQUENCE

Hard training leaves legs heavy. The next session is coming either way.

RECON compression systems use sequential mechanical pressure. Chamber by chamber, the boots inflate in order, foot to hip, in a steady wave, then release and repeat.

The result: legs that feel lighter and ready for the next training load.

ACTIVATE / CIRCULATE + RESTORE RED LIGHT: TWO TOOLS, ONE SESSION

Run compression first after training, then finish under the Restore panel. Two tools, two distinct jobs, one recovery block. That's systems thinking. That's the RECON difference.

Pillar Two Deep Dive

RENEW: MULTIPLE MODALITIES. ONE SESSION. ZERO COMPROMISE.

The RECON Renew mat system runs three modalities in one session, and the combination is not accidental. Each one was picked to run alongside the others in a single session. The Renew+ configuration adds targeted 660nm red light, bridging the gap between integrated recovery and dedicated photobiomodulation.

Far Infrared Heat

SET THE HEAT

Far infrared heat, adjustable from 30 to 70°C. Run it warm after training. Keep it at 35 to 40°C for an evening wind-down. Heat you feel, set where you want it.

PEMF Therapy

PICK THE PRESET

Pulsed electromagnetic fields from six coils, eight on Renew+. Pick a preset: 3 Hz Wind-Down, 8 Hz Unwind, 10 Hz Everyday or 23 Hz Pre-Training. Lie down and let the session run.

Negative Ion

ROUND OUT THE SESSION

Negative ion output runs in every Renew session, layered with the heat and the PEMF signal. No extra step, no extra time.

RENEW+
Targeted 660nm Red Light: Mat + Pillow

The Renew+ adds targeted 660nm red light delivery across two zones, body and cranial/cervical, for 179 total diodes running simultaneously with your PEMF, FIR, and negative ion session. This is zone-specific photobiomodulation integrated into a full recovery protocol, not a standalone red light session.

Renew+ Red Light

TARGETED + INTEGRATED

Zone-specific 660nm delivery across body and cranial/cervical zones, running simultaneously within a full PEMF/FIR recovery session. The red light here is one layer of a multi-modality protocol.

Restore Red Light

DEDICATED + FULL PANEL

Purpose-built photobiomodulation with broader coverage and red light as the primary modality. A complete, standalone red light protocol for athletes who want red light as its own dedicated session.

THE DOWNTIME ANGLE: YOUR MOST SKIPPED SESSION

Most recovery routines focus on legs and muscles. Few put real downtime on the calendar. Hard training leaves you wired, and wired athletes skip the wind-down. A Renew session gives you a set block to lie still: PEMF on a preset, far infrared heat at the temperature you choose, 20 minutes on the clock. The best athletes don't just outwork their competition. They out-recover them.

Pillar Three Deep Dive

RESTORE RED LIGHT: DEDICATED FULL PANEL. FULL PROTOCOL.

Red light sessions are photobiomodulation: red and near-infrared light from the panel at a set distance for a set time.

Restore Red Light is the dedicated red light protocol in the RECON system. Where Renew+ delivers targeted, zone-specific 660nm red light as part of an integrated session, Restore Red Light is purpose-built for athletes who want full-panel photobiomodulation as a standalone recovery modality, 8 wavelengths, broader coverage, deeper protocol, red light as the primary recovery tool.

The difference isn't just more diodes. It's the full wavelength stack, 630nm through 1060nm, red through near-infrared.

The RECON Philosophy

SYSTEMS THINKING FOR SERIOUS ATHLETES

RECON Wellness was built on a single premise: high performers deserve a recovery infrastructure as sophisticated as their training.

We are not a compression company. We are not a red light company. We are not a PEMF company. We are a systems company, and everything in the RECON protocol exists because no single modality can address the full complexity of what elite training demands from the human body.

Heavy legs need pressure in sequence. Downtime needs a set block on the calendar, not just a night off. Red light needs a set distance and a set time, not just good intentions. The F1 team doesn't guess which system needs attention. They measure everything, address everything, and execute with precision. That's the standard we hold ourselves to, and the standard we're building the tools to help you meet.
